Welcome to Crimson Nightmare's. This is currently a GodWars ( Created by: KaVir ) based MUD.
First things first, this is not like every other GW MUD, it is very unique. The things it inherits from GW
are the look, feel, and control, as well as some basic code. Past that, it has long since evolved.
Crimson Nightmares offers more than 30 custom coded hybrids. These are built from our base classes, some which have
been coded from scratch and all of which have been modified from stock code. Our unique bonus system means that you
never have to ask for doubles. The system is a random generator of bonuses from Quad Exp to Half Spell Training Speed
to Happy Thrash Time. Questing has been taken to a new level. We offer two quest machines, but with a twist. The machines
move each time a bonus flag is turned on. This means that you must work a little harder to recharge your cards, but it adds
a new level of interest. We also offer an alternative to decapping called Thrash. There are no paradox rules for thrashing
as it does not effect status.
If you do not already know the basics of how to mud, please read the Mud Basics page on this site. First, you have to get settled in
and figure out what you would like to accomplish. The mud help system is quite complete with plans in the works as of May 2005 to make it even
better. Type help *something* and you will view the information that exists on that subject. If you still can't find the answer you need, ask some
fellow mudders. If they do not know either, we offer a REQUEST flag. When an immortal sees this flag, they will answer your question to the best
of their ability.
For the first 6 hours of gameplay, regardless of classing or not, you will be protected from
play and proclaimed a NEWBIE. Others will not be able to attack you at this time, and most will help you. You will receive
the privilege of an EXP bonus of twice the normal value. Use this time wisely to develop your basic skills. On Crimson,
we do not have any requirements to get classed, so you may do this at any time. You can choose your own class by typing
SELFCLASS. This will show you a list of classes to choose from.
Equipment is all acquired through the CLASSEQ system. If you run into a monster that is too
strong for you, and you cannot run away, simply ESCAPE, and you will be transported to a
room, and left motionless for awhile so that your body can recover.
This concludes the basic getting started guide. The online help system contained on this website can help to answer
any of your other questions. Please reference it before you start asking things on the MUD. All of the correct answers
will most likely be located on this system, or else ask a Staff Member. Please read some of the following help files
while on the MUD, they will make your life a much happier one and keep you out of trouble. That is all for now.
